OSS Adoption in South Africa: Applying the TOE Model to a Case Study

Abstract

This paper presents a case study on the factors that influence the initial adoption of Open Source Software (OSS) in a large South African organization when implementing an OSS PBX platform. The theoretical foundation for this research draws on a number of academic frameworks and models, thus not only providing a practical illustration but also validating their usefulness in guiding OSS adoption.
