Use of Flight Simulators in Analyzing Pilot Behavior
Abstract
This paper describes simulation technologies in their current state as they are in the general aviation and at the University of Defence. The authors present a methodology of measurement, evaluation and modelling of pilots’ behavior, both before and after flight training (20 h) on real airplanes. By means of transfer function equation of human behavior model and time constants resulting from them, the authors analyze their change depending on the continuing training of students – pilots of military aircraft. Based on the results of these analyses, they have found a positive trend in the development of pilots’ transport delay and their abilities to adapt themselves to flight dynamics of an airplane.
